Pushcha Radzivila
Radzivil Forest National Nature Park is located in Sarny district of Rivne region of Ukraine, in the basin of the Stviga river. The park was officially established on 1 January 2022 to preserve the unique natural complexes of Ukrainian Polissya. The name of the park is associated with the Radziwill family, which played a significant role in the history of the region. The park has preserved historical and cultural monuments that reflect the rich heritage of Polissia.
The park covers an area of 24,265,307 hectares. It is home to rare wetlands, lakes and ponds that are of particular environmental, health, historical, cultural, scientific and educational value.
The park is home to many representatives of the Red Data Book of Ukraine. Its natural complexes include diverse landscapes and rich flora.
The park offers visitors opportunities for ecotourism, bird watching, hiking along ecological trails and learning about the natural and cultural features of the region.
Since the beginning of the russian invasion, the Frankfurt Zoological Society has been trying to help the reserve with partial coverage of operational losses. The FZS also systematically supports biomonitoring, in particular by providing equipment for photo traps and bird watching.
