German Environment Minister visits the Ukrainian Carpathians
During his first official visit to Ukraine, Federal Environment Minister Carsten Schneider visited Skolivski Beskydy National Park — a park that FZS has been supporting for 13 years. Our team was honoured to help organise the programme for the visit and highlight the long-standing cooperation between nature conservationists in Ukraine and Germany.
Together with Vasyl Pryndak, Director of Skolivski Beskydy National Park, Michael Brombacher showed the delegation some of the concrete results of this partnership: vehicles and uniforms for rangers, large-scale environmental education programmes for children, operational support for the park, and monitoring systems using camera traps and other devices.
«We greatly value the work of the Frankfurt Zoological Society, not only in Ukraine but also in southern Africa. They are a great partner, with highly committed and very professional people. Hands-on — that’s how I like it,” said Carsten Schneider», — said Carsten Schneider.
