Launch of a New Service: Bike Rental in Zacharovanyi Krai Park

May 2025

The presentation of the new service took place on April 25 in the town of Irshava, marking the official opening of the tourist season. Participants joined a scenic cycling tour through the park along the route Irshava – Ilnytsia – Osii – Kamianka. The route offered a close-up experience of the region’s natural beauty and provided unforgettable impressions of active recreation in the fresh air.

Petro Lazarchuk, Director of the M.CLASS Transformation Agency and Coordinator of Socio-Economic Development at FZS Ukraine:

Bike rental at Zacharovanyi Krai National Nature Park is another successful initiative promoting environmentally friendly business ideas, implemented by the FZS in partnership with the M.CLASS Transformation Agency across five regions of the Carpathians. Supporting such initiatives is especially important today, as time in nature with family and friends has become more valuable for every Ukrainian. This project marks another strategic step toward developing tourism infrastructure in the Borzhava Valley region.

The goal of the project is not only to support the launch and development of nature-friendly business initiatives, but also to generate new revenue streams for the budgets of the national parks where these initiatives are implemented.

Currently, the rental includes 11 bicycles and a specialized trailer for their transport. This type of recreation is suitable for solo travelers, families, and even entire teams. Bicycles are available for rent daily by calling in advance: +38 067 154 0203.

A great way to plan your stay in the region is by using another tourist service — the interactive map ‘Borzhava Valley’, which was jointly developed before the start of the tourist season by the national nature park Zacharovanyi krai and four surrounding communities — Bilky, Dovhe, Irshava, and Keretska. The map features key park locations, tourist routes, and eco-trails. Community representatives have also added hospitality points — hotels, restaurants, craft businesses, and tourist hubs (such as artisanal farms, including trout farms, museums, and palaces).
