Support of operating costs for nature protected areas is one of the systemic directions of work of the Frankfurt Zoological Society in Ukraine. Thanks to this, representatives of parks and reserves in a difficult period, when state funding has been significantly reduced, are able to continue important usual activities, in particular, to hold events for the purpose of eco-education.

Therefore, on August 16-18, the summer nature camp “Friends of Nature” was held in the National Nature Park “Hutsulshchyna”. FZS supports this camp for the second year in a row. Every day, children visited different locations of the park and studied and explored the environment in the format of quests, creative activities, sports competitions.

An important part of the camp program was an ecological and educational trail to the “Rosokhat” place in the mountains. The children got to know the unique way of running the farm in the Carpathians and tasted traditional cheese products. And also learned more about the typical representatives of the flora and fauna of this location and got acquainted with the surrounding peaks.

Such events help children in an interactive way to understand the importance of protected areas and learn the rules of interaction with nature.
